Five Minute Caramel Bugles
Five Minute Caramel Bugles are basically better than anything Bugles! They are sweet, salty, chocolaty, crunchy, and extremely addicting. They are almost dangerous because they are so quick and easy to make! Perfect for snacking, tailgating, gift giving, or hoarding for yourself! I always grab something sweet and salty. Then I try and convince myself to eat just one piece at a time. And I try to convince myself to stop eating before I polish off the whole bag.
Those are both good ideas that never happen! I decided to try making my own and adding a little something extra to them. These thing are not only over the top but you can make them in about five minutes! Give it a stir. It will be smooth and creamy like this.
Add baking soda. Stir to completely incorporate. Microwave again in one minute increments, stirring after each one. Microwave for a total of three minutes. Caramel will coat the Bugles a little better and it will bet a little darker after each minute.
Drizzle with melted semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate. That whole process took me about five minutes to do! So darn easy! Now try and resist eating the whole batch before you get them in a bag or serving bowl. I dare you! Caramel Bugles are quick, easy, and awesome for movie night, tailgating, road tripping, dessert, school lunches, or pretty much anytime you need a little snack! If you are kind enough to share they would also make great neighborhood gifts at Christmas time!
I live on a dairy with my husband and three boys. Although we are in the business of raising cattle, we really are in the business of raising boys. I am passionate about catching up with each other at meal times.
My love language is food. And I hope that my men feel the love in every bite. Read more Your email address will not be published. Notify me of follow-up comments by email.

I love the sweet and salty mixture and Bugles are my everything! Like you, I always want some munchies for the road, and these would make a great one to bring along for our next road trip. Well done! You just gotta have a little something to break up the long hours of sitting in the car! These hit the spot every time! What a fun idea!
This recipe is an excuse to buy some! Just went back and added it to the instructions! Add it to the caramel mixture right before adding Bugles. Hopefully it makes sense now! I used light brown sugar! Hi Chris! If I was going to experiment with it I would try making cooking the sauce on the stovetop, then tossing the dry ingredients with it. Then I would spread the mixture on a cookie sheet and bake it at degrees for an hour, stirring after 15 minutes.
This is how I would experiment with it! Good luck! Let me know how it goes! At that point they will be hard and stuck together if they were close to each other while cooling. Sometimes I leave the stuck together ones in a little clump! Hope that helps! Oh my goodness!
I think I usually buy the Hopfully that helps! The trick to a great party is planning ahead so I am wondering how many days ahead of time do think this snack can be made without it getting stale or soggy? Hi Renee! We could be soul sisters! Anything makeahead is a win in my book! The chocolate drizzle might get a little dull looking as they sit.
So maybe save that part for a few days before the party. Good luck with your extravaganza! Sounds so fun! So super easy and tastes just like the caramel bugles you can buy already prepared if you leave off the drizzles. I could eat the whole batch. Unfortunately, I usually end up eating the entire batch myself! Gald you enjoyed them! Can you just repeat to me only to be sure the only things that goes in the only caramel bugles?
Hi Johanne! Follow the instructions through step five, then omit the remaining steps. Either way they will be divine! I really liked them. But think mine needed to taste a little more caramel-ly not sure how you spell that. If I cooked them one more time would that help? They were absolutely easy. Will be making them again for sure. Thanks for sharing. All microwaves cook a little bit differently so, you might need to cook your caramels just a little bit longer than I cooked mine.
Cooking the candy longer would give the candy a more distinct flavor. But, cooking it longer will also make the candy more firm and not as soft and chewy. I prefer soft and chewy! You could definitely try cooking just a little bit longer next time!
